FAQ's

Who Is The Feathered Nest?

The Feathered Nest is a rescue facility for the unwanted/neglected, handicapped, disabled, displaced pet birds who are no longer wanted in their present environment or who can no longer be cared for by their present owner.

When Was The Feathered Nest founded?

The Feathered Nest was founded in September,  1998, and is located in Phoenix, AZ. The facility is dedicated to some of our family members who have crossed-over and is dedicated to them and their memories, while providing a place for the  handicapped, displaced/unwanted exotic birds.

Does The Feathered Nest "adopt" out the birds?

It is our mission to nurture and rehabilitate those birds who come to us who no longer are wanted by their present owner ... NO matter the circumstance. We will take in these birds and should the owner wish us to place them into another loving, caring home, then we will search for such a home. If  the owner does not want that, then the bird(s) remain here through the rest of their natural life. We will honor that request.

Does The Feathered Nest "sell" these or any birds?

Absolutely NOT.The Feathered Nest is not in the business of "selling" birds. We leave that upto the owner or breeder(s). If a party is interested in buying a bird, we will refer them to a very reputable aviary located in the Greater Phoenix area. We do not encourage bird owners to simply give up their pet birds. But should an owner be faced with that diffuclut situation, then, we here at The Feathered Nest  will lend them a hand.

Does The Feathered Nest "charge" for placement?

YES! A fee will be determined on the type/size of bird that is placed into another, loving-caring home. The fee will be discussed prior to any placement.

Does The Feathered Nest have a "vet" of record?

YES! Click on the box to the left marked "Staff Members" and that will let you know who our vets are.

Sometimes The Feathered Nest does its best to address all concerns about someone who must give up their bird(s). We don't have all the answers, but if you have a question you don't see here, please feel free to contact us via our e-mail address. We'll do our utmost best to address your concerns
