Going Home ...
Birds in flight symbolizes the end of a life.
One bird is shown leaving the flock and “going home” to his final reward.
The three remaining birds continue their journey through life with peace of mind, knowing that their loved one is now in Gods hands.

A Birds Prayer ...
|
|
|
|
Treat me kindly, by beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world’s sweetest music.
I ask no greater glory than the privilege of being with you. Though had you no home, I would rather rest upon your shoulder in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my God and I am your worshiper.
Keep my water bowl fresh, feed me clean good food, that I may stay well and play and do your bidding, to be rest upon your shoulder.
And, beloved master, should the great Master see fit to deprive me of my health, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your hands as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest -- and I will leave you knowing with the last breathe I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands, and that we SHALL be together again for eternal life.

More Than a Champion ...
|
|
|
|
As our own tribute ...we would very much like to add our thoughts and prayers to Barbaro...who is now in God’s corral and will now be able to run and play with those others who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.
A Champion and will ALWAYS be a great Winner no matter what.
You can count on us here at The Feathered Nest to include him in our daily-evening prayers. For Barbaro IS a Champion and Winner.

Taken from us WAY too soon at an early age...Rocky was an Amazon and a fighter. He battled his cancer with valor and passed away quietly in my hands with dignity. When our room addition is completed (almost) ...it will be dedicated to ALL of our feathered family members, (past--present--future) but we are going to name it “Rocky’s Room” in his honor.

We are saddened by the loss of our one and only "fur" family member, Silkie, a miniature Golden of 11 years. Silkie was the best Golden we could have brought into our home. She was very concerned over the welfare of her feathered family members She protected them, gave unconditional love and attention and protected their home. We will truly miss her but not forget her. For she is now with some of our feathered family members who have crossed over to Rainbow Bridge. For now she has her new assignment. To watch over them as well as us.

A thought ...
Hear our humble prayer, O Lord, for our friends the "birds" and all animals. Especially for those who are suffering, for any that are hunted, lost, deserted, frightened or hungry, for all that must be put to death.
We entreat for them all thy mercy and pity, and for those who deal with them, we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words.
Please, O Lord, make us, ourselves, to be true friends to our "birds" and other animals and so to share the blessings of the merciful.
